Home Location Register Verification Tool
HLR (home location register) is a home location register verification tool that stores mobile network subscriber information for all users of a particular network. It provides access to a large amount of information on cellphone numbers and their status, which is useful for data enrichment and cleaning as well as for reducing fraud rates in SMS marketing.
When a person connects to a cellular network, they need to verify their phone number in the HLR database of the service provider before being given access to the network. This check is carried out by the message switching center (MSC) of the network, which compares the international mobile subscriber identity of the user with that stored in the database to determine if the number is valid and which network it belongs to.
Risk Analysis for Unknown Email Senders: Protect Your Platform from Threats
This is why it’s important for companies to regularly check their list of mobile numbers in the home location register, to remove invalid or inactive numbers and to ensure that they’re using an HLR verification tool that offers a reliable database with high hit rates. This will save costs by preventing businesses from sending text messages to invalid or unreachable recipients, and it will improve the effectiveness of their SMS marketing campaigns.
SMSAPI customers can use the home location register lookup function to quickly validate their contact lists, and it’s easy to do with just a few clicks in our Customer Panel. In the Additional functions menu, just select “Check number – HLR”. The system will check the IMSI of the provided mobile number in the database at the network operator side and return the results to the SMSAPI client.
